Woo sock...

A few weeks ago I picked up a skein of Online Supersocke 100 in the "Tropic" colorway (a superwash wool-blend) from a local yarn shop... I believe I attempted at least three other patterns before I finally settled on Grumperina's Jaywalkers . I must say that the pattern is very simple, yet makes for a fun zig-zag type striping effect. I've found a new love - self striping yarn!

I've also been working away on a vest for a yet to be named recipient. The Notting Hill Vest (by Kathy Zimmerman) from Knitscene Magazine is worked up in Knitpicks' Shamrock, which can be purchased for quite a low price online. I've been knitting up the smallest size of the vest in the "Doyle" colorway, which features shades of blue, offwhite and a somewhat peachy tone with a brown base. Hopefully I have this puppy finished before Autumn chills us all!

WOO! How exciting! I just finished Tobi-Wan's socks in whatever self-striping yarn Meijer sells. Did you find that self-striping local in my town, or are there other local yarn stores I don't know about? I like those colors! I'll be excited to see how your sock turns out. I need to start on socks for ME! I'm not sure whether I should do a pattern I've done before or try something new with my beautiful precious sock yarn. LOL.
